The history of hair color guides is the history of the It's Mathai Group.

The presentation of hair color results was already known to Mr Eduard Mathai from his family hair salon business in Marienbad. In those days, the hairdresser produced his own color chart, dyed onto human hair with the original colors according to his needs. In 1948 Mr Eduard Mathai received his first order in Hildesheim for colored hair strands which were mounted into cardboard cards. The first modern hair color chart was born and with it, a new branch.
